Our 1987 Buick Grand National
SOLD
Here are a few shots of the Grand National. This was our second GN;
it's a 1987 with about 118,000 miles on it when we sold it last year. I believe in
driving cars, not looking at them.
It went to the track a lot in earlier years but since I'm working
on a more radical car (the T-type) I retired to driver status and eventually sold it
to focus on the T. Now I'm suffering withdrawal pangs..
The GN's current motor
Engine freshen-up
The GN's last combo:
- .030" overbored stock "109" block
- TRW forged pistons
- stock rods
- stock turbo crank
- iron 8445 casting heads ported by yours truly
- Erson 208/208@.050 flat tappet hydraulic cam
- stock downpipe
- stock injectors and intercooler
- 200-4R with parts from PTS
I did all machine work and assembly; machining was done at
FCCJ.
I've decided I don't have the time or money to keep two turbo Regals
so the GN was sold so I can finish the T-type. That's the plan, anyway!
